ntp服务中/etc/ntp/step-tickers文件干什么的？

centos 6.8 2.6.32-642.el6.x86_64

差了一些资料说，这个文件会在开机时候被ntpd读取，如果没有包含servers再去ntp.conf中找。

这么说，这个文件没什么作用啊？
